concept and comments: I love to experiment and CGU got a new
big printer for the computer. I knew nothing about how to
use it, but I learned, because it made my blood move. So, I
got these ideas to use gold and silver mylar which, of
course, messed up the printer. I was forbidden to use
mylar. Mylar-like foil, glued to a sticker like paper which
you can peel off. It is also reflective like a cloudy
mirror. So, I was able to save this much printed on the
gold mylar. I mounted it on black acrylic because I love
this material. The frame is sticking out from the wall
about 5". In order to see the piece you have to see it from
a certain angle, and out of what looks like wrinkled foil,
appears this face. It is great, becuse this piece of
artwork involved creativity compared to a drawing of
my portrait where you can see some drawing skills but
creativity is really not there. Here I had to think and the
viewer also has to search, involve, take more time to
spend with the piece and that makes it better. It makes
you
think. It is hard to photograph because of reflectiveness
of the material but I obsessively documented all my art work
because strangely I knew that one day I would need these
pictures.
