concept and comments: This piece is an homage to my Grandma Gizelle. She had her bedroom floor decorated with an inlaid stone design. I am remembering the sharp contrast of the cast shadow on a peace- full hot summer day, and the coolness of the stone. I used my photography to enhance the feeling. She is a great role model for us: a strong, successful woman; in the midst of communism she had a private business and raised four children by herself with hard work.
